Wellington Architects

We care deeply for form and aesthetics but prefer not to ground our projects in these pursuits as a primary concern.

Wellington Architects
Smart Design Studio our architecture

For many years, we have been fortunate to have designed many contemporary dream homes both in Wellington, across New Zealand and abroad, and the experience gained through those unique projects is priceless. Residential architecture in particular comes with a lot of emotional involvement and satisfaction from seeing a direct, positive impact on lives. We, as architects are privileged to be given opportunities to observe and even share the lives of our clients in order to design perfect homes that not only frame their lives but serve as platform for them to expand and enhance their daily experiences. It has taught us to be humble and to appreciate the importance of attention to detail, and maintaining quality in everything we do. Good architecture affects lives positively and that makes our profession meaningful. It’s all about generating happiness and that’s our bottom line. We continue to gain insight into how architecture affects us, as we cement our position in the industry as the “Dream Home” Architects of New Zeland as well as the most innovative architects in Wellington.

In each project, we resolve a solution appropriate to its circumstance. We value the economy, by which we mean being careful and efficient with the resources at our disposal. We value craft, seeking the skillful transformation of resources into things that we want to be within. And we value durability, we aim to create things with lasting value in the built environment due to the care and skill invested in the process of their creation.

Our Mission

As architects and designers we work in a creative and collaborative studio environment.

1. Identifying Your Needs

Wellington Architects is a young team of multi-award winning architects based in Wellington, New Zealand. We specialise in residential and commercial projects of high-quality finish and detail that are sensitive to context and brief. Our distinctive aesthetic is known for its classic proportion and geometric form. We enjoy using unexpected materials that challenge and sometimes even surprise. We also believe that good architecture and respect for the environment go hand in hand.

Working with your ideas,  we can nurture your project from conception to completion. Our innovative and inter-disciplinary skill-set and extensive network of suppliers means we can take a project from the first sketch right through to construction. Our team can help you make the right decisions and guide you through the process by bringing our creativity and can-do expertise to the table. Our work-style is collaborative, open and driven by our love of good design.
